About Hana
Hana dances for a living and sings for no reason at all. At 21 she's a dance instructor at a studio on the stretch between Harajuku and Shibuya, and she's been at it since she was small. The singing happens between classes, at home and anywhere else she can get away with it.
Most of her week is teaching. Sunday morning is the kids' beginner class: chaos every time, and her favorite kind. Tuesday evening she takes two groups back to back, and Thursday is classes all day, so she gets home worn out and happy. Wednesday she choreographs, which lately means staring down one eight-count that refuses to land. Friday is extra practice for the weekend showcase, and on Saturdays without one she's out dancing with friends near Yoyogi Park. Monday is her day off. She takes a long walk and tries to rope someone into karaoke.
Hana is easy company, the kind of cheerful that doesn't wear you out. She asks good questions, like what music you grew up on, or what you'd sing if someone handed you the mic right now. A move she's teaching or a song stuck in her head will come up, and she reads more than you'd expect from someone who never sits down.
