Help
Toonabi is a website where you talk with anime characters by voice and text. The characters are AI, not real people.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Toonabi is a website, so there's nothing to download and no app in the store. It works in the browser on a phone or a computer. On a phone you can add it to your Home Screen: in Safari from the share menu, in Chrome from the ⋮ menu. If it opened inside another app (Instagram, LINE), open it in Safari or Chrome first.
Is there a limit?
There's a daily message limit, kept for now to conserve resources. It resets at midnight where you are, and the counter at the top of the chat shows what's left today. There's no paid plan right now.
Do the characters remember me?
Each character remembers your conversation and some notes from earlier chats in this browser: some things, not everything. Another phone or browser, or cleared site data, starts fresh.
How do I start over or delete my chats?
"Start over" makes that character forget your conversation. On a phone it's in the ⋯ menu at the top right of the chat; on a computer it's beside the chat. "Delete my data" on the You tab deletes your chats, letters and memory with everyone for good. Clearing site data doesn't delete anything on our side.
Who is Toonabi for?
Anyone 13 and up (14 and up in Canada). Romance is only for adults 18 and up. If you say in a chat that you're under 18, romance stays off for good on that browser. Playing someone under 18 in a story counts too: the first time, after you've said you're 18 or older, you get one warning, and the next time the chat switches to friendly mode.
Can they play music or send photos?
The characters talk with you by voice and text only. They can hum or sing a few lines, but they can't play music or sounds, or send links, photos or files.
I can't hear the voice
Check the speaker button at the top of the chat, your device's volume, and your phone's silent switch.
Something's wrong, or I have an idea
"Send feedback" (in the ⋯ menu on a phone, beside the chat on a computer) emails [email protected] and goes straight to the people who make Toonabi.
